Patience is a Virtue

Yes, people say it a lot, but it's really true. If you can't be patient, then life's going to be a lot harder than it has to be. Take for example, waiting for a computer that won't arrive for over a month. If you can't manage to deal with that, then when much more difficult things happen (say, you have to spend a year in Afghanistan) you won't have to capacity to deal with them.

Being patient sucks. Nobody likes sitting around waiting to get what they want. Still, it's a fact of life (unless you're super rich, and even then) so you have to get used to it.

In other news, my computer is currently delayed due to a back order on the heat sink fan. It should be here by early May. This actually turns out to be a good thing though, since no one will be here to receive it for the next month anyways. As always, my trusty netbook is on life support.

In other other news, leave is rapidly approaching, and I'll finally get to see my wife again, as I'm sure I've mentioned several times in the past. As excited as I am to finally see her, I'm not to pumped about the 20+ hour drive I'll have to make there and back. Road trips are not my thing.

Man, all this waiting really does suck.

  1. Can't say it any better. I doubt I would be able to survive Afghanistan for a year. Especially not leaving my wife(girlfriend for now).
Also I only got my new computer a month ago. I was so impatient when it was having problems getting cleared. I was calling and getting upset with every passing day.
If that is a picture of your new rig. Sweetness.

  2. I actually had a problem when I tried to order it the first time while I was in Afghanistan because my shipping address was different from my billing address, which is pretty normal for me because I move around a lot.
