The Afghanistan Diaries: Sporadic Updates Edition

As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, my computer is on life support. I'm still on the hunt for my new gaming rig, but it's starting to wind down. My current plan is to order a custom PC from cyberpowerpc.com so I don't have to worry about screwing up the assembly. However, in the spirit of learning the important skill of computer building, I've decided to build my wife a scaled-down (read: much less powerful) computer so we don't have to compete for screen time. That, and if I build her a computer then we won't need a TV.

On Minecraft

I talked about Minecraft a while back, and not being able to play is definitely starting to wear on me. I've resorted to watching "Let's Play" videos of other people playing. All the watching, of course, has made me want to make my own "Let's Play" when I finally actually get to play. I'll give it some more thought when I get back to the States, and I'll ensure any videos I make get posted to the blog. That's probably the only place people will watch them anyways.

Recombobulating the Blog

While there might not be any outward signs, I've been working hard behind the scenes to improve your experience here at Starshard0's Super Blog. Most of the changes focus on the focus of my blog. While I've advertised in the past that I cover gaming, money, and politics, I don't really keep up with politics as much as I'd like to, and I stick to older and indie games which I imagine most people aren't interested in.

With that in mine, I'm thinking of moving more towards the "Personal Blog" style of blog, so I can justify talking about the random things I like to talk about. If you have any thoughts on the matter, please let me know in the comments.

Other Good News

I'm pretty stoked because the first wave of our replacements arrived, meaning we can finally start shifting our workload to them (yeah right!). It does mean I'm that much closer to going home now. In fact, we're scheduled to fly out in under a month. I'm not exactly counting down the days yet, but I do plan on ordering that PC I mentioned earlier pretty soon.
