The Afghanistan Diaries: Winding Down Edition

Sorry about the recent lack of posting. My schedule has been pretty crazy with all this end of deployment nonsense. Don't let the title of this post fool you, I'm not winding down at all. I was actually in the process of writing another entry where I praised the merits of becoming a Fobbit again, but never found the time to actually complete it due to the aforementioned crazy schedule.

Don't worry, it's nothing like that. I just ended up breaking my computer's screen through my own foolishness (I left an iPod Shuffle on the keyboard when I closed it). I'm not too bummed out about it, since it was only a $300 computer and I can still recover all the files on it if I plug it into a monitor, but I am upset that I can no longer play Minecraft, which leads me to...

A New Obsession

Minecraft. Just Minecraft. This is, along with Wurm Online and Dwarf Fortress, one of the greatest games I have ever played. Ever since I discovered it, I haven't been able to put it down. Until now anyways, without a computer, I have to wait until I get back to the States and get my new desktop PC to really dig into it. The anticipation is already starting to kill me.

Also, Minecraft has sort of been cutting into my blogging schedule. Maybe the loss of my computer's screen was a good thing after all...
