Save Money this Holiday Season

How else could he afford that sweet hideout?
With Thanksgiving now thankfully behind us (ever eaten a Thanksgiving dinner delivered by a Blackhawk helicopter? Try it sometime), we're all looking forward to Christmas and New Years. Or maybe we're not. One thing's for sure though, with the holidays comes some big spending. Last year we managed to spend enough to keep our economy going one more year, and odds are this year will be the same.

But if you're hurting for cash (or your sanity), then I've found the perfect solution: don't celebrate the holidays. Think about it. No decorations, no presents, no family visits, no hassles. Yes, I realize I might sound like the Grinch or Ebeneezer Scrooge, but let's face it, Christmas gets bigger every year; it starts sooner every year; it gets more ridiculous every year.

You can end it all, and you can end it this year. Simply let your friends and family know that you're done with it all, and that they shouldn't expect presents or visits this year. They'll probably think you're crazy, but I've found it's a lot better to be thought crazy than to be broke.

So that's it, that's my tip for saving money this winter. Merry Christmas everyone!
