The Afghanistan Diaries: Pre-Mission Edition

I'll be on a mission this Friday, so I'm writing this in advance. I should have all my posts scheduled out, so there should be no interruption of fresh new content each day. Just be aware that I might not get back to your comments and e-mails as often as I usually do.

The Week in Review

I pretty much had this week off, but I spent most of it hanging out at our office like usual. It was nice to get to sleep in, and it's just what the doctor ordered after last week's nightmare of a mission. The food in the chow hall was relatively good, but I missed breakfast (the most important meal of the day) most of the time since I was sleeping late.

I spent a majority of the week continuing my play-through of Final Fantasy VIII, and I started a new game in Dragon Quest IX (this will be my third time playing through). Additionally, I wrote up a PT plan (yech!) that will go into effect upon my return from this mission (double yech!).

My basil plants remain dead and withered (R.I.P.). I haven't touched Plants vs. Zombies for a few weeks since I beat it. Our first wave of stuff slated to go home is packed up. We're eagerly awaiting the arrival of our replacement unit so we can get the heck out of here. The chow hall had ice cream this week.

Looking to The Future

Fighting the good fight.
In the next week, I hope to write up a guest post, continue fleshing out my trading card game idea, and help my wife with her novel. I also hope that I'll manage to beat FFVIII and DQIX so I can move on to something different. I also hope to roll out my new template that ought to blow your minds.

In the meantime, keep fighting the good fight by reading my blog. It can only get better from here.
